Knicks Fire Fisher

After losing 9 of their last 10 games, the Knicks today have fired Derek Fisher and made Kurt Rambis the interim head coach.  I was looking for a picture of Kurt in his old Knicks uni, from when he signed a couple of ten day contracts with the Knicks be heading to the Lakers back in the day.  Perhaps he's suppressed all the evidence.  In any event, when your team is losing games because of your coach's decisions, it's time to switch.  I think it's very likely that the Knicks will go after Luke Walton to be their Head Coach this summer, unless Rambis sets the world on fire down the stretch.

Really curious to see what direction they go and what happens with the triangle. It's been clear to me that with KP, any time he's been involved with P&R the Knicks have been impossible to defend. They rarely used it, so the sample size is small but whether it was with Grant or Melo, it's been great to watch.

I also think this firing has do to with Fisher's behavior + comments in addition to his inept coaching abilities. The Barnes situation is a bad stain on his resume and I think it would hurt our credibility in recruiting FAs. Also really didn't like his comments regarding Rondo as he should not make statements that hurt any chances of us signing a player.

Give me Thibs or Walton. I'm scared Thibs would run some of the young guys down but he's shown he can develop players and that would be amazing for Grant, KP, Gallo.

I wonder if this makes a trade at the dealine more or less likely.

To me, the watershed moment was playing Melo for 50 minutes after the ankle sprain.

Phil should coach home games for a year. It would help bring in FA.
