Yanks Win Again

The Yanks continued they're winning mixture of pitching and power hitting, finishing off the Royals 4-2.    Pineda was back to dominating as he went 6.2 innings of 8K 1BB 1 run ball.  Leading 4-1, Girardi didn't use Lindgren.  Instead he went with Carpenter and Wilson who combined for 1 out.  Betances and Miller did the rest.

Meanwhile, the second run that the Royals scored was unearned as DiDi G threw another ball away.   It was supposed to be pitching and defense, but it's only been pitching and power so far.

Either A-Rod or Teix is behind most wins.

Rare kudos to Sterling for saying that hundreds of players did PEDs, but they don't have A-Rod's career production so it can't simply be about drugs.

The NJ.com guy is already explaining why Slade goes down eventually no matter what.

It's not crazy given what they always do, but why?

Ells and Gardner need rest.

Beltran isn't a full time player anymore.

Young sucks hard.

There can be an important transitional role if they start being creative and have foresight.

I think Ellsbury is going to be out longer than anticipated, which should give Slade a big window to force their hand.

I would love to see the defense an OF of Gardner/Ellsbury/Slade could play.

I wish Yanks could find another team to take on Beltran. Would have to eat money on the deal since he is signed through next year.

Let Slade Play!

Luis Severino to the RailRiders. Figured it would happen before June, and it has.

I think the only delay with Severino getting promoted was the injury. They probably had a certain number of innings in mind, and the injury delayed him from reaching that sooner.

Phil;

Didi tried to make a play that was very difficult. He showed excellent range and quickness on that play. Bad throw but he had no time to fire normally and get something on it.

Can't use that specific play to knock his defense.

counting last season, when he was in AA at the end, the other day represented the 2nd time he's thrown a no-hit start.

Cashman ought to be guaging dump off interest on Beltran with the Cardinals (Adams injury) or the Nationals (Werth injury). Maybe they'd take on Beltran's bat.
