Yankees Win!

Ex-Met Chris Young, who I won't even get a picture of, just hit a 3 run walk off jack in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Blue Jays 5-4.   This was after he broke up a no-hitter against the Yanks in the bottom of the 8th with a double.    That was just an old school Yankee win, thanks to an old school Met.  This is hilarious.  Shades of Claudell Washington.  Huge win!

I started watching in the 7th because of the nohitter & what an ending!! Reminds me of a game in '96 when O'Neill broke up a no-hitter in the 8th with a rope and Tino homered for a 2-0 win, and one in about '70 or '69 when Sonny Siebert no-hit the Yanks through 8 and Clarke led off the 9th with a hit, Kenney doubled, Murcer brought them in with a single, and White homered. Unfortunately the score was serving like 7-0 at the time and we still lost.

It's fun for the day I hope they don't take the wrong message from it.

"Cashman said he had no second thoughts about the decision Beltran and the team made in May for him to try to play through the injury instead of having the procedure immediately — which would have kept him out until this month."

That's reassuring...

Well, for the Newman haters here's some good news: According to sources, he is retiring this year.

I don't hate anything but underperformance, and that starts with the GM.

Chris Davis suspended for 25 games for amphetamines.

Think about what the O's have done this year largely without Machado, Wieters, and and sucky Davis.

Buck may be a jerk at times, but he turns franchises around.

The Yankees don't currently employ anyone who has ever done that.

It's true. Newman is retiring. Post speculates that Trey Hillman will get his job. I'm a big fan of Trey Hillman.

I do hope the message that Prado is a very valuable player, and a good asset to have, especially with his ability to play all over the place. This was one of the better trades the Yankees have made in a while, and they have him for 2 more seasons!!

Others here have panned this move, and do not want him. But he is exactly what this team needs.

Gotta love it.

Blogger MBN,

I hope that a SSS isn't skewing your point of view. Lots of players are good for a time, but then regress to their mean.

Prado is only valuable a team has payroll flexibility, unless he plays 2B, which is where I fear that he will play next season.

What they need exactly, are young impact offensive players.

So, not him.
